The standard Adobe Reader which you can get for free does not offer too many features. For example, it is not possible to save an individual page. If you find something interesting on a PDF page and you want to share it with a friend, you will have to show him the whole document. PDF Burst lets you break down a PDF document into individual pages. It is a lightweight application and the process will take only a few seconds.

PDF Burst does not need installing. It comes in a 1.66 Mb archive and you just need to unpack it and run the .exe file. All Windows versions, from Win 2000 to Win 7 will support it, regardless of your system's performance.

The interface consists of a simple window with no options. All you have to do is drag a PDF document with your mouse cursor and drop it over the interface. In a few seconds, the document's pages will be saved as separate PDF files in the application's folder.

Because the PDF Burst package is so small and you can run it without going through a setup process, you can copy it on a portable device and use it on any other computer. While running, the application will not write anything in your Windows Registry or other vital places.

Pros

PDF Burst does not need to be installed. You can unpack it and run it right away. There is a single option you need to click on. Just load a PDF document and the application will burst it into separate files.

Cons

The interface will stay on top of any other window on your screen, which can be a bit uncomfortable. If you need to extract one or more pages from a PDF document, PDF Burst will do it almost instantly. Just target a PDF file and the application will do the rest.
